Joey Ladouceur and Team Look Ahead to Super DIRT Week With High Expectations; Just Three Events Remaining in 2014 Season

After a busy weekend of DIRTcar Sportsman racing at Brighton Speedway on Friday night and Le RPM Speedway on Saturday, Joey Ladouceur and his team will now have a couple weeks off to prepare for one of the biggest events of the season in Syracuse, New York for Super DIRT Week.

Ladouceur kicked off the weekend at Brighton Speedway and looked strong early, setting fast time in his group, and went on to finish third in his qualifying heat race and made the redraw for a top 12 starting spot. Ladouceur would select position number four and lined up on the outside of row two for the 35 lap main event. Once the race started, it was a struggle for Ladouceur. He broke a left front shock mount early, and did all he could to salvage a 12th place finish.

Le RPM Speedway was up next for Ladouceur as the DIRTcar Sportsman Series made their debut at the track. Ladouceur was fifth fastest in his group and remained in fifth throughout his qualifying heat race. He started the 50 lap Sportsman feature from the 14th position and moved up quickly through the field. By lap five he was inside the top ten and continued to charge forward. With 37 laps on the scoreboard, Joey was in sixth place, battling for a top five position. He would end the race in 8th place.

“The car was pretty good”, explained Ladouceur after the race. “We had some good battles out there and were able to move up through the field pretty good. We will take it, and get ready for Super DIRT Week”.

The next event on the schedule will be Super DIRT Week, with a stop a Weedsport Speedway on Wednesday, October 8th before moving to the New York State Fairgrounds for inspection, practice, time trials, more practice, qualifying heats and ending with the 30 lap Syracuse Championship race on Sunday, October 12th.

Joey Ladouceur would like to thank all of the sponsors that help support the team for the 2014 racing season. Coffrage 20-20/Pompage 20-20, Fence Depot, Minimax Express, Glengarry Truck Centre, Gauvreau Terre de Surface, Mr. Radiator, Number One Speed Shock Service, Boucherie du Village and Finish Line Web Design are all an integral part of the Ladouceur team and they look forward to sharing their success with all of you in the future.

Joey Ladouceur Looking for Big Results With This Weekend With DIRTcar Sportsman Events at Brighton Speedway and Le RPM Speedway

With other commitments this year, Joey Ladouceur has not run the full DIRTcar Sportsman schedule in 2014, but has followed the tour whenever possible. After a disappointing 17th place finish at MIR this past weekend, Ladouceur now looks ahead to upcoming events this weekend, beginning on Friday night at Brighton Speedway, and on to Le RPM Speedway in St. Marcel, Quebec on Saturday.

Ladouceur will return to Brighton Speedway on Friday night for only the second time in his career. In 2013, while leading the DIRTcar Sportsman standings as a rookie, Joey’s night ended early after a lapped car clipped one of the infield tires, sending it onto the track and into the path of Joey’s car, causing extensive front end damage. While the circumstances are different this year, Ladouceur hopes that this year’s trip to Brighton will be a little more forthcoming.

Saturday night’s destination is Le RPM Speedway, located in St. Marcel, Quebec. This will be Joey’s first time in competition in a Sportsman, as last year’s event was rained out. Joey does have some experience at the track, competing in the Pro Stock division.

After this weekend’s events, Ladouceur will get ready for Super DIRT Week events at Weedsport Speedway and the New York State Fairgrounds. The 2014 season will end at Brockville Speedway on October 18th for the 1000 Islands RV DIRTcar Northeast Fall Nationals.

Joey Ladouceur Wins ProCam Truck Series Championship With a Win and Third Place Finish at Autodrome Chaudière

Winning races and championships is nothing new for Joey Ladouceur and his race team, as they have been doing so virtually every season for nearly 20 years. However, as Ladouceur entered his first year racing on pavement in the ProCam Truck Series, it was a whole new experience for the Alexandria, Ontario driver, as a lack of experience both in the Series and with the racing surface left many wondering how well he would adapt.

It didn’t take Joey and everyone else long to realize that he was just as good on pavement as he is on a dirt racing surface. He won his very first feature that he entered back on May 31st, and backed that up with a second place finish in the second of two on opening night and a second place overall result during his debut. Joey went on to win three of the 10 races over the course of the series, and finished in the top five in all but one, which happened to be a race he was leading and suffered a mechanical failure.

The final weekend of the season was just this past weekend at Autodrome Chaudière in Valley Jonction, Quebec. It was a two day event, with a makeup feature from earlier in the season planned on Friday night, and the scheduled program on Saturday. Joey won the Friday night event, extending his points lead. Saturday’s race was eventually postponed to the following day due to rain, but a strong third place finish clinched the 2014 ProCam Truck Series title for Ladouceur.

“We had a lot of fun racing in the ProCam Truck Series this year”, says Ladouceur. “It feels great to win the championship in our first year over”.

Ladouceur will compete in the remaining DIRTcar Sportsman Series races to finish out the 2014 campaign. This coming weekend he will be at Mohawk International Raceway competing in the 75 lap Pete Mitchell Memorial Race. The following weekend he will travel to Brighton Speedway and Le RPM Speedway before getting ready for Super DIRT Week events at Weedsport Speedway and the New York State Fairgrounds. The 2014 season will end at Brockville Speedway on October 18th for the 1000 Islands RV DIRTcar Northeast Fall Nationals.

Joey Ladouceur would like to thank all of the sponsors that help support the team for the 2014 racing season. Joey Ladouceur Ready for Championship Battle as ProCam Truck Series Heads to Autodrome Chaudière for 2014 Season Finale

The 2014 season has been a very busy one for Joey Ladouceur and his DIRTcar Sportsman team as well as his ProCam Truck Series team. He was done a great job balancing the two as much as possible all season long without missing a beat. This weekend will be one of the toughest however, as he commits his focus on the championship battle in the ProCam Truck Series where he currently holds a slim advantage with back to back events lined up for this weekend.

As a rookie in the ProCam Series, Ladouceur did not know what to expect going in, but he flourished in the series immediately and found himself entrenched in the championship throughout the season. Ladouceur will take on the Valley Jonction, Quebec track both Friday and Saturday, as Friday is a rescheduled date from the original June 14th event that was postponed due to rain. Joey will bring a five point advantage with him, and hopes to be celebrating a championship in his rookie season, much like he did the year before in his Sportsman inaugural campaign at Cornwall.

Regardless of the outcome on Friday and Saturday in the truck, Ladouceur has plans to get back to the DIRTcar Sportsman right away as he will rejoin the tour at Humberstone Speedway on the final leg of their western Ontario swing. Merrittville/Humberstone competitor Brad Rouse graciously offered Ladouceur a backup ride. He will miss two events, but the goal is to remain in the top 12 the series point standings.

Although the regular season is now over, Ladouceur does have plenty events on his schedule, including Mr. DIRTcar Sportsman Series races at Mohawk Raceway on September 13th, Brighton Speedway on September 19th, and Le RPM Speedway on September 20th. From there, the team will begin to prepare for Super DIRT Week with more DIRTcar Series events lined up, including the prestigious 30 lap Sportsman championship event on Sunday, October 12th.

Joey Ladouceur Destined for Third Place Points Finish at Cornwall in 2014; Looking for Pro Cam Truck Series Championship in First Season

It has been a busy season for Joey Ladouceur as he battles for the 2014 ProCam Truck series title in his first year, as well as competing weekly at Cornwall Motor Speedway and following the DIRTcar Series and Sportsman Seaway Series championships. The regular Sportsman season will conclude this weekend at Cornwall with a 40 lap Seaway Series finale. Ladouceur has 3rd place virtually locked up in track points, and is just 20 points outside of the top five in points in the Seaway Series despite more than his share of bad luck.

Ladouceur will be looking to get back to victory lane on Sunday night. He has just one victory at Cornwall all season, coming back on July 6th and would love to end the regular season on a high note.

Joey will return to the ProCam Truck Series the following weekend at Autodrome Chaudiere (Vallee Jonction, Quebec) where he will conclude his rookie season and hopes to pick up the Series championship. He is currently in first place in the series standings with races at Chaudiere on Friday night and Saturday night. Friday’s portion is a makeup of the June 14th event that was postponed due to rain.

While Ladouceur is battling for the championship at Autodrome Chaudiere that weekend, he will miss the DIRTcar Sportsman Western swing through New York and Ontario. He will miss the events at Ransomville and Merrittville Speedway, he may still run on Sunday at Humberstone.

Joey Ladouceur would like to thank all of the sponsors that help support the team for the 2014 racing season. Joey Ladouceur Scores Third Place Finish on Sunday Night at Cornwall Speedway; ProCam Truck Series Race at Autodrome Granby Rained Out

After a fourth place finish last week at Cornwall Speedway, Joey Ladouceur was hoping to return this week with an even better performance. He also had another ProCam Truck Series event scheduled, this time at Autodrome Granby.

On Friday night, Ladouceur was hoping to take his ProCam Truck to Autodrome Granby. With his dirt racing experience, Ladouceur had to be considered a favorite to win, and add in his exceptional record in his rookie season in the series, it clearly supports that he was most likely going to be a contender. Mother Nature had other plans, and unfortunately, the race was cancelled.

Ladouceur was back in his DIRTcar Sportsman on Sunday night at Cornwall Speedway. He began the night with a strong second place finish in his qualifying heat race. He started the 20 lap main event from the 11th position and quickly moved forward. By the halfway point he was up to eighth place and was in fourth place as they hit lap 15. Joey would continue to climb up the leaderboard and ended the night with a third place result.

“We are real happy with that finish tonight”, says Ladouceur. “We only have a couple more weeks left until the end of the season, so hopefully we can build on this and maybe even get back to victory lane.

Joey Ladouceur Posts Second and Third Place Finishes in ProCam Truck Series Event at Riverside Speedway; Top Five in Sportsman at Cornwall

This past weekend was another busy weekend for Joey Ladouceur and his Alexandria, Ontario based team. On Saturday they were back with the ProCam Truck Series at Riverside Speedway in Ste. Croix, Quebec and Sunday night he was back with his DIRTcar Sportsman at Cornwall Motor Speedway.

Joey had another solid run with the ProCam Truck Series. He won his qualifying heat race, and placed third in the first 40 lap main event and second in the final 40 lap race. He finished the day 2nd overall.

Cornwall Speedway was up next on Sunday night. He struggled in his qualifying heat race, and returned to the pit area to make some adjustments to make the car better on the fast and rough surface. He started deep in the field for the 20 lap main event, and he persevered throughout the event to finish in fifth.

Joey will return to Cornwall Speedway this coming Sunday as he looks to make up some ground in the chase for the 2014 championship. Joey is currently 3rd overall at this time with four events remaining. His next ProCam Truck Series event will come on Friday, August 15th at Autodrome Granby.

Joey Ladouceur Posts Solid Finishes at Mohawk Raceway and Cornwall Speedway; Returns to ProCam Truck Series This Weekend at Riverside

After a busy couple weeks with the Sportsman Seaway Series and the DIRTcar Sportsman series in Quebec, Joey Ladouceur returned to Cornwall Speedway on Sunday night, as well as one round four of the Seaway Series on Friday night at Mohawk International Raceway.

Ladouceur made his first trip of the season to MIR, which is a track that he has had a tremendous amount of success at in the Pro Stock division. Joey turned the second fastest lap in his qualifying session, placing him on the outside of the front row for his heat race. His second place finish placed him into the redraw for a top 12 starting position in the 40 lap main event. After drawing the sixth position in the redraw, Joey rolled off the starting grid from the outside of the third row. Battling amongst the top five most of the race, Joey ended up with a solid fourth place finish.

Cornwall Speedway was up next on Sunday night. Joey started the night with a fourth place finish in his qualifying heat race, and was hoping for a solid run in the 20 lap main event to solidify his third place position in the point standings. Joey finished the race with a sixth place finish. With just one month remaining in the 2014 season at Cornwall, Joey is third in points, with a comfortable lead against any challengers, but also has a great deal of points to make up in order to contend for his second consecutive championship.

This coming weekend Ladouceur will return to the ProCam Truck Series on Saturday as he makes his way back to Riverside Speedway, the site of his first series win. On Sunday night he will return to Cornwall Speedway.

Joey Ladouceur would like to thank all of the sponsors that help support the team for the 2014 racing season. Joey Ladouceur Gets Second Place Finish in Pro Cam Truck Series Event at Airborne Park Raceway; DIRTcar Sportsman Series Produces Mixed Results

Last weekend, Joey Ladouceur battled tough luck at Autodrome Granby and Drummond in the Seaway Sportsman Series, but the experience gained driving the Kaven Peloquin backup car certainly would be beneficial when he made the trip again this week in his own car for the Mr. DIRTcar Sportsman Series.

Sunday was a busy day for Ladouceur as he attempted to pull a double header. He was in Plattsburg, New York to race at Airborne Speedway early Sunday afternoon, and as soon as that race was over, he was to make a quick exit and head to Cornwall Speedway to race his Sportsman. Ladouceur won his qualifying heat at Airborne and selected position number five in the redraw, lining up from inside of row number three. Joey battled amongst the top three for the entire event, and took over the second spot on the final lap of the race.

“We had some good battles up front for the top three spots”, says Ladouceur. “This is a great little racetrack here, and I look forward to coming back. Now it is time to head to Cornwall to run the Sportsman tonight”.

Joey arrived at Cornwall just before his heat race started. As luck would have it, rain pushed back the qualifying heat races by several minutes, allowing Joey to make the call for his heat. After finishing fifth in the qualifier, Joey made some changes to the car before hitting the track for the 20 lap main event. He started the race from 15th and was up to 9th by halfway, but just unable to gain any ground throughout the event. He would finish in ninth.

Autodrome Granby was up next on Monday night. Ladouceur timed fourth fastest in his group, and lined up on the outside of row two for the qualifier. It was a struggle early, and a sixth place finish was the end result. After making some changes to the car, Joey returned to the track for the last chance qualifier, and a second place finish earned him the 22nd starting spot for the 50 lap feature. Joey made steady progress early, making the top 15 after just 10 laps. As they hit the late stages of the race, Joey’s car got a little better and he crossed the finish line with a sixth place result.

After spending Tuesday morning at the Bernier Racing shop preparing the car for Autodrome Drummond, Ladouceur was looking for a little better results. He qualified second fastest in his group and backed that up with a second place result in his qualifier, making the redraw for a top 12 starting position in the 50 lap main event. Joey started from the 10th position, and was making steady progress for much of the race. A lap 35 caution regrouped the field, and that is when disaster struck, as one car got turned around in front of oncoming cars, and Ladouceur’s car received heavy damage.

This coming weekend, Joey will be at Mohawk International Raceway on Friday night for the next round of the Seaway Sportsman Series. He will return to Cornwall Speedway on Sunday as the Sportsman division is on the card with the World of Outlaw Sprint Cars. The next PROCam Truck Series race comes on Saturay, August 2nd at Riverside Speedway.

Joey Ladouceur Posts Mixed Results in Seaway Sportsman Series Events at Autodrome Granby and Autodrome Drummond; Cornwall Rained Out

It certainly wasn’t the outcome that they were looking for, but Joey Ladouceur enjoyed his visit to Quebec last weekend with the Sportsman Seaway/Lussier Series at Autodrome Granby on Friday night and Autodrome Drummond on Saturday. Ladouceur piloted a Kaven Poliquin backup car during the weekend.

At Autodrome Granby on Friday night, Joey started his qualifying heat from deep in the field, rolling off the starting grid from 12th place. With only four cars making the redraw, Ladouceur did all he could, but missed out by just one position. In the 50 lap main event, Joey started from the 13th spot, and it was unable to gain any ground throughout the race, finishing in the same 13th place position.

The next stop on the schedule was Autodrome Drummond on Saturday night for another 50 lap main event. Ladouceur finished fifth in his qualifier once again, and started the feature from the 18th starting position. Joey had worked his way into the top ten at one point but got shuffled back on the last couple restarts and finished 17th..

Joey was planning on racing his own car on Sunday night at Cornwall Speedway but for the first time in 2014 they were forced to cancel.

“A big thanks to Eric Champagne and Kaven Poliquin for allowing me to utilize their backup car this weekend at Granby and Drummond in the Seaway/Lussier Series”, says Ladouceur. “We didn’t get the results we were looking for, but we still enjoyed our weekend”.

Joey will be back at Cornwall Speedway this coming Sunday night, followed by a return visit to Quebec on Monday and Tuesday with DIRTcar Sportsman Series events at Autodrome Granby and Autodrome Drummond. Sunday will be a very busy day for Ladouceur, as he competes in the ProCam Truck Series race at Airborne Park Raceway in Plattsburgh, New York earlier that afternoon. As soon as the race is finished, Joey will make the two-hour drive back to Cornwall Speedway.

Joey Ladouceur would like to thank all of the sponsors that help support the team for the 2014 racing season. Joey Ladouceur Wins on Sunday Night at Cornwall Speedway; Mechanical Failure Ends Dominant Performance in ProCam Truck Race at Circuit ICAR

After a rough outing on Wednesday night at Ransomville Speedway for their DIRTcar Sportsman Series race, Joey Ladouceur returned home to prepare for a new challenge. Sunday morning he was on the track at Circuit ICAR making right and left hand turns on a road course for the first time in his career. After ending the day in the ProCam Truck Series at the Mirabel, Quebec track, Joey headed back to familiar territory at Cornwall Speedway for double features with his DIRTcar Sportsman team.

It was Ladouceur’s first time ever on a road course, but you wouldn’t know it by watching him handle the tricky ICAR track. Joey set the fastest lap of the day in qualifying and redrew 7th for the main event. By the time the race reached the halfway distance, Joey was already in the lead, and looked poised for victory. As the laps counted down and Ladouceur pulling away from the field, 3rd gear in the transmission had went away, and he soon dropped to second. With just three laps remaining the motor let go and Joey’s day ended with disappointment after such a strong start.

“We were doing great until we lost third gear. We are shifting here 3 times a lap, and not having that gear really hurt us, by I was trying to salvage a good finish but the motor let go on us just before the finish”, says Ladouceur.

After the race ended at Circuit ICAR, Ladouceur was on the road and heading to Cornwall Speedway for double features. The first feature was a makeup race from June 22nd and Ladouceur battled to an 8th place finish. It was a tough start to the night, but Ladouceur and the team were optimistic that it would get better as the night progressed. After winning his qualifying heat race for the scheduled program, Ladouceur was looking for a strong finish in the second feature of the night. As the race hit the halfway point, Joey was up to second, and a took the lead after a restart just a couple laps later.

“After the engine troubles and disappointment earlier today at ICAR, you cant imagine how good this win feels tonight”, says Ladouceur. “I have to thank the crew for all their hard work, and my family for their support”.

There is no doubt that winning races is a tradition for the Ladouceur family. Just within the last week, Joey’s young son Tristan was a winner in the karts at Cornwall, Joey won his race tonight, as did Joey’s dad Laurent Ladouceur, picking up the win in the postponed 40 lap Modified feature earlier in the night, and Joey’s brother Lee Ladouceur also has a recent win this season in a Sprint Car.

Ladouceur will return to action this coming weekend with a pair of Seaway Sportsman Series events. Friday night he will be at Autodrome Granby, then on to Autodrome Drummond on Saturday night before ending the weekend with a regular night at Cornwall Speedway on Sunday.

Tuesday 1 July 2014

Canada Day weekend always means a busy weekend at the track, and this one was no exception for Joey Ladouceur. He started the weekend on Saturday at Autodrome Montmagny in the ProCam Truck Series, and moved back to the dirt track at Cornwall Speedway on Sunday night.

Ladouceur returned to Autodrome Montmagny on Saturday with a win just 3 weeks earlier at the same venue fresh in his mind. After starting sixth in his qualifying heat race, Joey advanced two positions over the 8 lap event, crossing the finish line in fourth place. The team made some adjustments to the truck and they returned later for the 50 lap main event starting from sixth place. By lap 10, Joey had worked his way to fourth place and remained there through halfway. By lap 30, Joey had patiently moved up to third place, and remained there until a lap 43 caution. The next several laps produced a great battle to the finish amongst the top three. Ladouceur moved to second not long after the restart and had challenged for the lead. He crossed the finish line in second place.

“It was a great race at the end amongst the top three”, explains Ladouceur. “We are having a lot of fun here in the ProCam Truck Series”.

On Sunday night, Ladouceur was back in his Sportsman at Cornwall Speedway. The night started off with Ladouceur and several other drivers taking part in a solemn tribute to a fallen racer and a friend as the Speedway hosted a ceremony to honor Danny Lefebvre after his fatal accident at the track a week earlier. Joey started fifth in his qualifying heat race and quickly moved up to finish in second place. In the 20 lap main event, Joey started from the 10th position and patiently bided his time over the opening laps. The first caution was out on lap seven and Joey was still in ninth place. Joey was able to move forward after the restart and was up to fourth place when the caution was displayed again on lap 16. The battle was on over the final four circuits around the fast ¼ mile, and Ladouceur was soon challenging for the lead. He crossed the finish line in second place.

On Tuesday night, the youngest of the three generations in the Ladouceur racing family, Tristan Ladouceur won his first main event of the 2014 season at Cornwall Dirt Raceway Park.

Joey will have a busy week once again, beginning Wednesday night at Ransomville Speedway for a DIRTcar Sportsman Series race. Ladouceur is the defending champion of the event at Ransomville and will be looking to repeat. On Sunday morning, Ladouceur will face a new challenge as he will battle in the ProCam Truck Series on the road course at Circuit ICAR in Quebec before heading back as soon as the race is over to compete at Cornwall Speedway for double features in the Sportsman division.

Joey Ladouceur would like to thank all of the sponsors that help support the team for the 2014 racing season. Joey Ladouceur Returns to Pro Cam Truck Series on Saturday at Autodrome Montmagny; Call Out to Local Racers Regarding Safety After Tragic Incident at Cornwall Speedway on Sunday Night

After a very difficult weekend in the local racing community after the tragic death of Danny Lefebvre on Sunday night at Cornwall, Joey Ladouceur has quickly voiced his concern to fellow drivers not to overlook anything when it comes to safety inside the race car.

"With the recent tragedy at Cornwall Motor Speedway this past weekend, I'm hoping that all drivers in all divisions take this as THEIR wake up call. I'm talking about DRIVER safety", says Joey Ladouceur. "What happened to Danny Lefebvre is sad, and it makes us realize that we are not invincible, and there's risk every time we pull out onto the track. Having the proper Safety equipment (including profession roll cage, proper seat and the hardware that fastens the seat, safety belts, helmet and a head and neck restraint system (HANS) should not be overlooked for any reason".

Moving on to this coming weekend, Joey Ladouceur will return to Autodrome Montmagny on Saturday. If you recall back a few weeks ago, Ladouceur won at Autodrome Montmagny and he will be looking for a repeat performance. He will be back at Cornwall Speedway on Sunday night and will be on the road to Ransomville Speedway on Wednesday, July 2nd for the next round of the Mr. DIRTcar Sportsman Series.

In the main event, Joey started from second and quickly jumped out the to the race lead. Just a few minutes into the race, the red flag was displayed after a nasty wreck, and the race was eventually called off, giving Ladouceur the victory. All drivers that were in the wreck were later released from the hospital and are doing ok.

“We are really happy to get the win here at Autodrome Montmagny” ,says Ladouceur. “I wish we could've ran the full 50 laps, but I am glad to hear that everyone, including my teammate Michaël, was ok after that nasty wreck”.

Joey Ladouceur Wins ProCam Truck Series Debut at Riverside Speedway; Second Place Finish in DIRTcar Series Opener at Cornwall Speedway

There is no questioning Joey Ladouceur’s ability behind the wheel of a racecar on a dirt track. His record over the past several years speaks for itself with well over 100 feature wins to his credit, and numerous track and series titles along the way. With his first ProCam Truck Series debut this past weekend, many wondered how long it would take him to adapt to not only a new type of race car, but also racing on a paved track for the first time in his career.

Ladouceur silenced any critics very early, as he looked extremely comfortable in the truck very early. He started his qualifying heat from 4th in his pavement debut, and moved up on position to finish in third. In the first of two 40 lap features, Joey started from the fifth position and by lap 10 he was up to 3rd place. A lap 14 caution regrouped the field, and it was just what Ladouceur needed as he was able to within reach of the leaders. Within a couple laps, Ladouceur advanced to second, and would take the lead on a lap 19 restart. Joey maintained the top spot over the remaining laps to collect his first win in his first career ProCam Truck Series start. The action continued a little while later though, as the second 40 lap feature hit the track. Joey started from the 12th position, and quickly moved forward at the drop of the green flag. After just six laps, Joey was already up to fourth place, and was in second as the race hit the halfway point. Joey would finish the race in second place ending the night second in the overall standings.

“We are really happy with our truck series debut”, say Ladouceur. “We weren’t really sure where we would stack up, but to come out here and win and get a 2nd is pretty special”.

On Sunday night, Joey returned to his DIRTcar Sportsman for a 50 lap Mr. DIRTcar Series race at Cornwall Speedway. He timed third fastest in his group, placing him on the inside of row two for the 8 lap qualifier. Joey advanced one spot to finish in second, locking into a redraw position for a top 12 starting spot in the main event. Joey would draw position number seven. When the first yellow flag of the race was displayed on lap six, Joey had reached the third position and quickly worked his way to second when the race resumed. Over the next several laps, Joey maintained a top three position, and made returned to second for good on lap 43. He made several attempts to take over the race lead, but would have to settle for second.

“It was a good run for us, and a good way to start the series”, says Ladouceur. “A win here at Cornwall would have been great, but we will take this and move on to the next one”.

This coming weekend Joey will be back in the ProCam Truck at Montmagny Speedway in Quebec on Saturday. The Sportsman division will have a rare Sunday night off at Cornwall this week. The following week, Ladouceur is back in the ProCam Truck at Autodrome Chaudiere on Saturday, June 14 and returns to Cornwall on Sunday, June 15th. The next race in the DIRTcar Sportsman Series will come at Ransomville Speedway on Wednesday, July 2nd as Ladouceur returns as the defending race winner.

Joey Ladouceur would like to thank all of the sponsors that help support the team for the 2014 racing season. Joey Ladouceur Gets 2nd Place Finish at Cornwall Motor Speedway; Big Weekend Coming up With Truck Debut and DIRTcar Series at Cornwall

After opening the 2014 season last weekend with a sixth place finish at Cornwall Speedway, Joey and his team were back this week looking for a little better finish, and challenge for their first win of the 2014 season.

The night started off with a quick practice session and Joey was fifth fastest out of the 21 cars on hand. In the qualifying heat race, Ladouceur started from the fifth position and advanced one spot to finish fourth, but a problem with the brand new engine forced the team to scramble and before the main event got underway, the team had to make an engine change. The experienced crew went to work, and the backup powerplant was installed and ready for battle in the 20 lap main event. Joey started from ninth, and quickly moved forward, holding a top five position after just five laps. By the time the race reached the halfway point at lap 10, he as up two more positions, and running strong in third place. With five laps remaining, Ladouceur was quickly reeling in Thomas Cook, who was chasing his first career win. The final caution of the race came on lap 17 setting up one final restart. Ladouceur did everything he could to make a pass for the lead, but it didn’t materialize.

“We wanted the win tonight, but we will take second and move on. It was a good points night for us”, says Ladouceur. “I really have to congratulate Thomas Cook and his team on his first career win. He really did a great job”.

This coming weekend will be a new experience for Ladouceur as he competes in his first ever ProCam Truck Series event at Riverside Speedway in Sainte Croix, Quebec on Saturday. On Sunday night, Ladouceur will return to Cornwall Speedway for the first round of the DIRTcar Sportsman Series.

Joey Ladouceur Gets 6th Place Finish on Opening Night at Cornwall; Night Ends Early in Sportsman Seaway Series at Brockville Speedway

The 2014 season finally got underway for Joey Ladouceur and his team from Alexandria, Ontario. The hard work from over the winter was put to the test as they battled on Saturday night at Brockville Speedway for the first round of the Seaway Sportsman Series, and on Sunday night at Cornwall Speedway for their season opener.

At Brockville, the night started off with a time trials, and Joey posted the second fastest time in his group, earning an outside front row starting spot for his 8 lap preliminary qualifying event. He went on to win the race, which locked him into a redraw position for a top 12 starting spot in the 40 lap feature. By luck of the draw, Joey would start from the front row, and quickly jumped out to the early lead. Just a few laps into the race, Ladouceur’s car drifted high and over the banking slightly, losing several positions. This was the beginning of a series of misfortunes for Ladouceur, as he suffered some heavy front end damage when the field bottled up in front of him on a lap six restart, ending his night early.

Sunday was a new day, and Ladouceur was looking forward to getting back on the track for opening night at Cornwall Speedway where he returns as defending Sportsman track champion. In the qualifying heat race, Ladouceur started third, and crossed the finish line in fourth place. The team made some adjustments to the car, looking to get it dialed in before they made it back out for the feature. Joey lined up from the 15th position for the 20 lap feature, and quickly moved forward, taking over a top ten position after just five laps. By halfway he was battling for a top five. The night ended with Joey crossing the finish line with a 6th place finish on opening night at Cornwall.

“We wanted to start the year off a little better than we did this weekend”, says Ladouceur. “We have a great car, and a great team and we will be back next week looking for a little better result”.

Last weekend, Joey had a chance to test his ProCam Truck at Autodrome Chaudiere in Valee Jonction, Quebec. He ran over 100 laps, trying to get used to not only a new racing machine, but also a new track with an unfamiliar surface.

“The test went really well. We were able to run some real good fast laps that were very competitive with other teams with more experience”.

This coming weekend, Ladoucuer will be back in the DIRT Sportsman at Cornwall on Sunday night. The first race in the Pro Cam Truck Series will take place on May 31st at Riverside Speedway.
