Joey Ladouceur Gets Fourth Place Finish in Mohawk Racing Parts Pro Stock Series Race at Mohawk Raceway; Cornwall Speedway Rained Out

With the popular Mohawk Racing Parts Pro Stock Series in action at Mohawk Raceway, Joey Ladouceur was looking forward to resuming the series in which they have won 8 times in his career.  After finishing fourth in the series opener for 2012 at Cornwall, Ladouceur was hoping for a little better finish this time around.  In addition to the event being a Mohawk Racing Parts Series event, it was also a combined series race with the Bailey Motor Company Pro Stock Series, which Ladouceur is also the defending champion.  Also on the weekend schedule was the customary Sunday night events at Cornwall Speedway.

Ladouceur started the 35 lap Pro Stock Series race from outside of row four after drawing eighth in the redraw for starting positions after the heats.  After an early caution, the next 27 laps went caution free, and Ladouceur was able to work his way into the top five.  The final caution of the race came on lap 31 and Ladouceur was able to move up one additional spot to fourth at the checkered flag.

“It wasn’t the run that we wanted to have, but we will take it and move on”, says Ladouceur.  “We have had a pair of top fives to start the Mohawk Series, and hopefully we can get the car working a little better before we head up to Quebec for the races next Month”.

The plan was to attend Cornwall Speedway on Sunday, as the Pro Stocks were joined on the schedule by the World of Outlaw Late Models.  A mid-afternoon rain shower and a forecast for more rain throughout the evening forced track officials to cancel the events for the night.

This coming weekend, Ladouceur will return to Cornwall for their regular program.  The following weekend will be busy as Ladouceur travels to Autodrome Granby and Autodrome Drummond for combined Mohawk Racing Parts Pro Stock Series/Mr. DIRTcar Pro Stock Series events, and then on to Le RPM Speedway on Sunday for a standalone Mohawk Racing Parts Pro Stock Series race to complete the weekend.

Joey Ladouceur Gets Third Place Finish at Cornwall Motor Speedway

The 2012 season has been great so far for Joey Ladouceur and his Alexandria, Ontario based race team, posing four wins in just five starts at three different race tracks.  Ladouceur was back at his home track Cornwall Speedway this weekend, looking to add another win to his resume that continuously inches toward 100 total victory mark in the Pro Stock division.

Ladouceur started the night at Cornwall Speedway by posting the second fastest speed in opening practice.  After starting eighth in his qualifying heat, Joey charged to the front, picking up the win with a late race pass for the lead.  In the 20 lap Pro Stock main event, Joey lined up in the tenth position, and steadily made his way toward the front.  With the caution out on lap 12, Ladouceur was inside the top five and looking for more.  Over the final laps, he climbed to third, but was unable to challenge the leader.

“The car just wasn’t as strong as we needed it tonight”, says Ladouceur.  “It was still a good points night for us, and hopefully we can get back to victory lane next week.  We have some big events coming up here over the next few weeks, and we are really looking forward to getting into the busy summer”.

This coming week, Ladouceur will be at Mohawk International Raceway for a special Thursday night event.  This will be Mohawk Racing Parts Pro Stock Series race, as well as a Bailey Motor Company Pro Stock Series combined event.  Ladouceur will be back at Cornwall on Sunday night looking to get back to victory lane.  It will be an exciting event at Cornwall with the World of Outlaw Late Models on the schedule, and will certainly be a packed grandstand.

Joey Ladouceur Closing in on 100th DIRTcar Pro Stock Victory With Win at Cornwall Motor Speedway

At the beginning of the 2012 racing season, Joey Ladouceur had 93 DIRTcar Pro Stock victories, and was hoping to top the 100 career win mark with another successful season.  The competition in the Pro Stock division remains tough, with a solid field of cars each week at Cornwall, and the competition is even more fierce when Ladouceur hits the road for the Pro Stock series events.  After just a few weeks into the year, Ladouceur now has three additional wins to add to his totals, plus another win at Can Am in a non DIRT sanctioned event.

Ladouceur traveled to Cornwall Speedway on Sunday night and for the second straight week he won the 20 lap Pro Stock main event.  He started from the 12th position on the outside of row sixth, and worked his way to the front of the pack moving into the top three just past the halfway point.  The field was slowed by a caution on lap 12, and Ladouceur moved into second on the restart and was poised to make a move for the lead when the final caution flew on lap 16.  Ladouceur used the inside lane to make the pass on the restart, and cruised to his fourth win of 2012 in just five starts, and his second of the season at Cornwall.

“We had a good car again tonight, and hopefully we can keep this up throughout the season”, says Ladouceur.  “I really have to thank my crew, sponsors and all the fans that support us each week”.

Ladouceur is also looking forward to welcoming a new addition to the team over the next few days as his crew chief, Frank Lavigne and his wife Anik are expecting the birth of their first child this week.

This coming weekend, Ladouceur will be back at Cornwall Motor Speedway looking to continue his strong start to the 2012 racing season, and looking to get one step closer to the elusive 100 win club.
