Joey Ladouceur Scores Third Place Finish on Sunday Night at Cornwall Speedway; Just Two Weeks Remain Before Champion is Crowned

With the month of August quickly dwindling down, the battle for the track championships at all area tracks are heating up and Joey Ladouceur and his team find themselves at the top of the standings at Cornwall, entering this past weekend with just three races remaining.

Ladouceur starting his qualifying heat race from the fifth position and quickly moved to second place before the end of the eight lap event. In the 20 lap feature, Joey started from ninth, and had advanced to sixth by halfway. In the second half of the race, he gained some more ground, and crossed the finish line with a solid sixth place run.

“It wasn’t a bad run for us tonight”, says Ladouceur. “We tried some different things with the set up, and I wouldn’t say we struggled, but it wasn’t as good as I hoped it would be. It was a good points night for us, and hopefully we can do that over the final couple races. Winning would be great, but finishing in the top five is what we need to do to win this championship”.

This coming weekend, Ladouceur will be at Mohawk International Raceway on Friday night and will be back at Cornwall Speedway on Sunday looking to extend his current 16-point lead in the championship race. The next race on the Mr. DIRTcar Sportsman series comes on September 7th, 8th and 9th as they make their return to the site of Joey’s first DIRTcar Sportsman series win at Ransomville Speedway, followed by Merrittville Speedway and Humberstone Speedway. Ladouceur is currently second place in the series standing by just four points.
