Joey Ladouceur Grabs Seventh Place Finish in Sportsman Seaway Series Debut at Brockville Speedway; Cornwall Opener Postponed Until This Sunday

It was the first long weekend of the summer, and Joey Ladouceur and his team were ready to hit the track for a busy Victoria Day weekend. First up was the first of five Seaway Sportsman Series events, with the opening event taking place at Brockville Speedway. Sunday was opening night at Cornwall Speedway, were Ladouceur would return for the first time in a Sportsman car after several years of domination of the Pro Stock division.

Joey struggled early in his qualifying heat race, and a fifth place finish would set him 17th to start the 40 lap main event. The team had made some changes to the car before the feature race, and it was soon evident that the changes were in the right direction. He was inside the top 15 within a couple laps of the start of the race, and battled his way into the top 10 before the race reached the halfway distance. By lap 28 he was up to eighth place and moved up on more position with just two laps remaining to score a seventh place finish.

“We are really happy with that”, says Ladouceur after the race. “We keep working hard trying to get better with each race. We brought the car home with a good finish and with no damage, so we will take it and get ready for Cornwall”.

Opening night at Cornwall was set for last Sunday night, but once the team arrived to the track, so did the rain. Track officials soon made the decision to cancel, and they will try again this coming Sunday night.

Joey Ladouceur would like to thank all of the sponsors that are on board for the 2013 racing season. Coffrage 20-20/Pompage 20-20, Fence Depot, Minimax Express, Glengarry Truck Centre, Gauvreau Terre de Surface, Stinger X Chassis, Au Vieux Duluth and Finish Line Web Design are all an integral part of the Ladouceur team and they look forward to sharing their success with all of you in the future.

Joey Ladouceur Earns Second Consecutive Top Ten Finish at Can Am Motorsports Park; Weekend off Leading up to Busy Victoria Day Weekend

It was a relatively busy week for Joey Ladouceur. On Wednesday night, he had his car on display at Au Vieux Duluth Restaurant in Cornwall as part of the Cornwall Motor Speedway Media Conference, and then traveled back to Can Am Motorsports Park on Friday night for their second race of the 2013 season.

With a top ten finish at Can Am during the first week of the season, Joey Ladouceur and his team were looking forward to getting another shot at Can Am this past weekend, hoping to better their seventh place finish.

Starting fifth in his qualifying heat race, Joey advanced just one spot to finish in fourth. After making some adjustments to the car before the 25 lap main event, the team was confident that the car would be improved as they returned to the track for the feature race. The race went relatively uneventful, and Ladouceur started right where he finished, in ninth place.

“The car was ok, just not quite as good as last week”, says Ladouceur after the race. “The competition is so close, just being a little bit off on the setup really shows. We will work at the setup, and when we get back to Can Am, hopefully we will be even stronger”.

Although Joey is not racing at Can Am all season, he is currently sixth place in overall track points. With only three Sportsman starts (2 at Can Am), Ladouceur has adapted quickly to his new division.

This coming weekend, Joey will have an off weekend, leading up to next weekend’s Sportsman Seaway Series opener at Brockville and the 2013 season opener at Cornwall Speedway next Saturday and Sunday night.

Joey Ladouceur Gets Top Ten Finish at Can Am Motorsports Park; Will Return to Can Am This Friday Night Looking for First Career Sportsman Victory

With a nice weekend forecast, Joey Ladouceur and his Alexandria, Ontario based team were able to race a little closer to home this week, as Can Am Motorsports Park opened their season on Friday night. Ladouceur was a winner at Can Am last season with the Pro Stock on opening night, and was hoping to duplicate that success in the Sportsman division.

Joey struggled a little in his qualifying heat race, starting third, and slipped back to fifth before the checkered flag. After making some adjustment to the car, Ladouceur returned for his 25 lap feature, starting mid pack as he rolled off the starting grid from 13th out of the 26 car field. By the first caution on lap 5, Ladouceur had worked his way inside the top ten and continued to work his way forward. At the checkered flag, Ladouceur crossed the line in seventh place.

“It was a pretty good run for us”, says Ladouceur. We are a little bit off of the front running guys, but we will get there. I am pretty happy with our run, considering its only our second Sportsman start”.

This coming weekend, Ladouceur will return to Can Am once again, looking to improve on last weekend’s performance, and will be seeking his first career Sportsman feature win.

It was a weekend of revolving plans for Joey Ladouceur and his Alexandria, Ontario based race team. Eager to make his first career start in the Sportsman division, Ladouceur was determined to get to a racetrack somewhere over the weekend.

Joey had the season opening events at Can Am Motorsports Park in Lafargeville, New York on the schedule, but due to rain during the week and wet grounds, and more rain forecasted for Friday night, officials made the call in mid-week to cancel their program. The next destination of choice was Canandaigua Motorsports Park near Rochester, New York, but cold temperatures, rain and even snow forced them to cancel as well just before midday on Saturday.

With the car loaded up, and a race team eager to get to a racetrack somewhere, a decision was made to head to Fonda Speedway, located in the Capital District of New York State, just west of Albany. With 37 cars on hand, making the feature would be a daunting task for most at a track with minimal experience, in a class he hasn’t competed in before. A sixth place finish in the preliminary qualifying heat relegated him to the consolation race, and after a strong third place run he locked himself into a starting spot for the main event. Rolling off the starting grid from 23rd, Ladouceur ran a great race, moving up through the field, and dodging several wrecks in front of him. The end result was a 17th place finish.

“We always want to do better, but overall I am very happy with our first ever Sportsman race”, claims Ladouceur. “We missed a few wrecks and ended the night with not even a scratch on the car”.

Ladouceur will be back in the Sportsman car this weekend, at either Can Am on Friday night, or Merrittville Speedway on Saturday. The following weekend, Joey has a test run on the pavement scheduled for Saturday, May 4th at Autodrome Chaudiere in preparation for his first Pro Cam Series Truck race at the track on Saturday, May 18th. He will also test on Saturday, May 11th at Autodrome Montmagny. He will be back in the Sportsman car on Sunday, May 19th at Cornwall for their season opener.

Joey Ladouceur would like to thank all of the sponsors that are on board for the 2013 racing season. Coffrage 20-20/Pompage 20-20, Fence Depot, Minimax Express, Glengarry Truck Centre, Gauvreau Terre de Surface, Stinger X Chassis and Finish Line Web Design are all an integral part of the Ladouceur team and they look forward to sharing their success with all of you in the future.

Joey Ladouceur 2012 Season in Review; 100th Career Win and Multiple Championships Highlight Final Season in DIRTcar Pro Stock Division

When you think of the DIRTcar Pro Stock Division, you cant help but think of Joey Ladouceur and his career accomplishments.  He added to that in 2012, posting his 100th career DIRTcar Pro Stock feature win, added his second consecutive Mr. DIRTcar Pro Stock championship, his sixth career Cornwall Speedway track championship, his eighth career Mohawk Racing Parts Pro Stock title, and his second consecutive Bailey Motor Company Pro Stock crown.

Ladouceur started the year with four feature wins in the first five events of the 2012 season.  In that span, he won at three different race tracks, taking his first ever win at Can Am Motorsports Park, and opening the season at Mohawk Raceway with a victory, as well as winning at Cornwall Speedway during the second week of the year to close out the month of May.  Joey added a pair of victories in June, and two more in July, one of which was a Mr. DIRTcar Pro Stock event at Cornwall.  In August, he celebrated his 100th career win at Mohawk Raceway with a victory on August 17th and closed out the year at Mohawk with yet another win in September.

In October, Ladouceur found himself in a tight championship battle once again, and a second place finish at Syracuse gave him a commanding lead going into Brockville Speedway’s season finale.  Another second place finish at Brockville clinched the championship once again for Ladouceur, giving him his second consecutive title and third overall.

“I really have to thank my wife Josée and my family for all their support”, says Ladouceur.  “I also want to thank my crew chief Frank Lavigne and his wife Anik, Sebastien and his wife Jacinthe and Tristan.  We wouldn’t have the success that we have had without them and our great sponsors”.

Ladouceur will move up to the Sportsman division in 2013, leaving the Pro Stock division with multiple records that may never get broken.

“We have accomplished all that we can in the Pro Stock class, so its time to move on”, says Ladouceur.  “We are looking forward to competing in the Sportsman class next season”.

In addition to competing in the Sportsman division, Ladouceur will also dabble with some pavement racing in 2013, driving a Pro Cam Super Truck owned by longtime sponsor Mario Morissette from Coffrage 20-20 in 8 to 10 events in Quebec.

Joey Ladouceur would like to thank all of the sponsors that were on board for the 2012 racing season.

Joey Ladouceur Claims Second Consecutive Mr. DIRTcar Pro Stock Championship After Second Place Finish in 2012 Season Finale at Brockville

After a second place finish at Super DIRT Week the previous week, Joey Ladouceur entered the final race of the Mr. DIRTcar Pro Stock Series at Brockville Speedway on Friday night with a 35 point advantage.  He needed to maintain an eighth place finish or higher to secure his second consecutive DIRTcar Pro Stock championship.  In addition to the Pro Stock race, Ladouceur also had planned to make his DIRTcar Sportsman debut on Sunday, but rain forced the cancellation of the day’s events.

Ladouceur last competed at Brockville Speedway in this event in 2010, finishing with a third place result.  The event was cancelled last year due to rain, so Joey and the team were eager to hit the track this year as part of the opening night of the 1000 Islands RV DIRTcar Northeast Fall Nationals.  Joey got off to a slow start, qualifying 10th fastest out of the 18 Pro Stocks on hand in the time trial session, he struggled again in the heat race, coming up with a fifth place finish, placing him in the ninth position to start the 50 lap main event.  As the race approached halfway, Ladouceur had climbed his way up to the third position, despite being very cautious, not wanting to take any unnecessary chances.  By lap 30 he made the pass for second, and began to focus in on the race leader.  Over the final 20 laps, Ladouceur maintained the second spot, and crossed the line as the 2012 Mr. DIRTcar Pro Stock champion.

“This year we were able to go out and run the final race and not have rain play the deciding factor”, says Ladouceur, who was making his final appearance in the Pro Stock division.  “It feels really good to be able to win it this way.  I was very cautious in the opening laps, not wanting to take any chances, but once things settled down, we were able to race a little bit more”.

Joey Ladouceur would like to thank all of the sponsors that are on board for the 2012 racing season.  Coffrage 20-20/Pompage 20-20, Fence Depot, Minimax Express, Glengarry Truck Centre, Gauvreau Terre de Surface, Stinger X Chassis and Finish Line Web Design are all an integral part of the Ladouceur team and they look forward to sharing their success with all of you.

“We had a great run over the years in the Pro Stock division, and we look forward to moving on next season to a new challenge in the Sportsman division”, says Ladouceur.  “I really have to thank our sponsors, crew members and all of our families for their support, and we cant wait to get the 2013 season started”.

Joey Ladouceur Gets Second Place Finish in Thrilling Pro Stock Event at Super DIRT Week; Seeks Second Consecutive DIRTcar Pro Stock Title

Like most years, the Pro Stock’s put on one of the best races during Super DIRT Week, and Joey Ladouceur was right in the middle of the battle for the win throughout the final laps of the race.  He came up just a little short in his bid for his first career Syracuse win, but his second place finish solidified his position at the top of the DIRTcar Pro Stock point standings with just one race remaining.

Ladouceur arrived at the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse on Thursday night.  The first order of business on Friday morning was to go through the mandatory technical inspection process.  After passing inspection, Ladouceur was ready to hit the track for practice on Friday afternoon.  He was the second fastest car after the opening practice, and was looking forward to qualifying on Saturday and getting ready for Sunday’s championship race.

After some early morning rain on Saturday, DIRTcar officials made the announcement that the Pro Stocks would not be on the schedule at all on Saturday.  Their time trials were pushed to Sunday morning, before the 25 lap main event.

Joey was fifth quickest during time trials, and would fire from the inside of row three to start the race on Sunday afternoon.  He remained in contention throughout the race, and found his way to second in the closing laps, unable to make the pass for the lead.

This coming Friday night at Brockville Speedway, Joey Ladouceur will close out his 2012 season in the Pro Stock division with the final race in the Mr. DIRTcar Pro Stock Series.  Ladouceur holds a 35 point advantage going into the final race.  In addition to Friday’s race, Ladouceur will also compete in Sunday’s DIRTcar Sportsman Series race driving a car owned by Gilles Godard.
