With double features on the
schedule at Cornwall Motor Speedway for Joey Ladouceur and his fellow Pro Stock
competitors on Sunday night, it was a great opportunity to get his 100th
career DIRTcar Pro Stock victory on his home track in front of many of his
fans. It would have been a perfect
setting to capture the memorable win.
Although it didn’t happen on this night, Ladouceur remains the point
leader at Cornwall with just three more weeks remaining, and is on the verge of
claiming his sixth Cornwall Motor Speedway Pro Stock championship.
The night began with the
makeup feature from Sunday, July 15th. Ladouceur battled from deep in the field, and struggled to climb
through the field. He ended with a
sixth place finish. In his qualifying
heat race for the scheduled August 12th program, Joey started from
the sixth position and raced his way up to second place. After making a few adjustments to the car,
Joey was back out for the second 20 lap feature of the night. He rolled off the starting grid from the 11th
position. It was a struggle most of the
race, and when the dust settled, Ladouceur finished in eighth place.
“You are going to have
nights like that sometimes in racing”, says Ladouceur after the race. “It wasn’t a good night, but we will work
hard in the shop through the week, and hope for better results next week”.
This coming week, Ladouceur
will be at Mohawk Raceway on Friday night for the final round of the Bailey
Motor Company Pro Stock Series. Joey
currently leads the series by just two points, and will be looking to capture
that 100th career win, and his second Bailey Motor Company Pro Stock
Series championship. On Sunday night,
Ladouceur will return to Cornwall Motor Speedway with a 58 point lead in the
battle for the Cornwall Pro Stock championship. The track title, and the Mohawk Racing Parts Pro Stock Series
championship will be decided on Sunday, September 2nd. The next Mr. DIRTcar Pro Stock Series race
will take place on September 8th at Autodrome Granby.
Joey Ladouceur would like to
thank all of the sponsors that are on board for the 2012 racing season. Coffrage 20-20/Pompage 20-20, Fence Depot,
Minimax Express, Glengarry Truck Centre, Gauvreau Terre de Surface, Stinger X
Chassis and Finish Line Web Design are all an integral part of the Ladouceur
team and they look forward to sharing their success with all of you.
